FERRARI TESTAROSSA 1958

Neil Twyman built this Ferrari Testarossa for himself over a period of 10 years. In that period he restored a number of very original cars (#0704,#0716,#0738 etc.) and thus gathered more data than most, which allowed him to build something more exacting than many of the recreations out there. The car was one of only two accepted by Goodwood for the Revival, some years back (the other was also built by Neil). Goodwood also invited the car for the Festival of Speed press day and it was driven by Stirling Moss. The car did lots of contemporary historic racing and was actively welcomed as the original cars never come out to play.

When the car was being raced it had FIA HTP papers. To get FIA papers the car has to be “part for part” interchangeable with an original car….

  • This just gives a flavor for how correct, the car build was.

  • The chassis was fabricated by Neils team using jigs from the original chassis' they worked on.

  • The suspension is original type 250 as per what would have been on the cars in period.

  • The brakes are original type 250 Brakes as per what would have been on the cars in period.

  • The engine has an original 250TR type Block (very rare!!) and has just been refreshed.

  • Gearbox is an original 250TR type Ribbed (racing) case gearbox (very rare)!

The car currently benefits from having been completely mechanically rebuilt by Neils team, a fresh engine rebuild, rebuilt box and suspension and brakes were also done. The car is ready to go and situated in the United Kingdom, inspection by  appointment only. A very unique opportunity to own one of the  the best Ferrari Testarossa recreations in the world.
